Le Hot Club de Katoomba are a group of like minded Blue Mountains musicians who love classic French chansons and Hot Club swing jazz, in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, The group morphs between a 3 and a piece, playing many of the local venues and cafe/restaurants.
Vocalist/guitarist Julien Joel Clement (Belle Jar, Disco Frisco) and violinist Simon Watts (String Theories, Skarrat & Watts) team up with Neill Duncan on sax and drums as well as, on special occasions, accordion player Matthew Dennett, double bass player Brett Hirst and anyone else willing to commit to the jazz/swing ethos, to create music that will transport you to another time and place.

Simon picked up the violin at the age of seven and has never stopped playing. After a classical training Simon was restless to explore other styles of music from the music of his Irish ancestry to jazz swings & steamy tangos and his main aim, when playing, is to bring pleasure to his audience and leave them wanting more.
Julien is a singer/songwriter & guitarist known for his many projects covering a wide style of music, here in Katoomba. For the Hot Club de Katoomba, he goes back to his French roots, keen to communicate the passion, drama and humour of French classic songs from the 30s and onwards.
