Sumatra is a 3 person production trio that makes a mixture of slow R&B and fast paced Hip Hop to create a live set that moves like a story. While all three boys are adept at producing, Ben Medveczky plays drums, Riley Hilder plays the bass, and Finbar Stuart is a vocalist and piano player. Sumatra mixes analogue and electronic sounds for a unique soundscape. Sumatra started as a jazz band playing locally, then moved on to electronic production but still keeping the jazz influences, getting our friends to help with vocal features. Sumatra has worked with international artists all over the globe, spanning from Germany to the US. Sumatra gets their sound from a variety of influences from artists such as, Kaytranada; Galimatias; Hermitude; Sabrina Claudio; The Internet.
